Intelligent Payments has created a bespoke payment platform for the Travel Industry which facilitates payments for Online Travel Agents (OTA’s) and Booking Engines. The Intelligent Payments OTA payment solution can greatly reduce operational costs, enhance business efficiency and increase sales.
We understand that an OTA has industry specific requirements, typically capturing payments for third party agents (Hotels, B&B’s, Car Hire Companies, Theatres etc). They then pass on the payments to the third party to process at a later date. This complexity adds to the burden of PCI Compliance which can lead to expensive PCI audits. The Intelligent Payments OTA Payments Platform takes the OTA completely out of PCI scope. The platform allows the OTA to securely capture and send card data to third party agents via a number of channels (secure email, electronic fax, XML feed into the agent's system or via a portal) where the agents can
securely log in to retrieve the card data. Should the OTA wish to process cards at the point of booking, they will have access to over 60 local payment methods in addition to credit and debit card processing, both via the web or mobile.
This solution takes the OTA and any of their agents out of PCI scope. It is also ideal for hotel chains that have franchise hotels as part of the group. The solution allows them to process payments at the point of booking for their own hotels, whilst capturing the card details and passing them on to the franchise hotels to process on their own systems.
Alternatively, the hotel chain can capture payments on behalf of the franchise and Payments can be settled directly to each franchise, the Intelligent Payments back office manages all of the reporting.
